Conventional ceramic coatings are built around silica. They work, and they were a genuine step forward over waxes and sealants. Graphene and borophene chemistry builds on that foundation, aiming for a slicker surface, better water behaviour and a finish that holds up longer under Western Australian sun.

Accreditation matters because a coating is only as good as its installation. Magnum accredits installers on preparation standards and application method — which is exactly where most disappointing coating jobs go wrong, long before the product is ever opened.

Both packages below include the full preparation chain. Nothing is coated until the paint underneath is clean, decontaminated and enhanced.

The process

What Happens To Your Car

Six stages, in order. Most of the time goes into the first four.

  1. Assessment

    Paint is inspected under correction lighting to see what is really there — swirls, etching, previous repairs, panel-by-panel condition.

  2. Decontamination

    Full exterior wash, iron fallout removal and a clay-bar treatment to lift bonded contamination the wash leaves behind.

  3. Correction

    Single-stage enhancement is included in both packages. Where paint needs more, a multi-stage correction is quoted separately.

  4. Preparation

    Panels are stripped of polishing oils so the coating bonds to bare, clean clear coat rather than sitting on residue.

  5. Coating

    Magnum graphene or borophene is applied by hand, panel by panel, then levelled — paintwork, exterior plastics and applicable trim.

  6. Cure and handover

    The coating cures undisturbed indoors. You collect the car with clear aftercare guidance on washing and maintenance.

Common questions

Before You Book

  • Most coating jobs run over two to three days, because the preparation and correction stages take the bulk of the time and the coating then needs to cure undisturbed. Heavier correction adds time. You will be given a realistic window when the vehicle is assessed, and a courtesy vehicle can be arranged.

Ceramic window tinting is arranged through a trusted tinting partner, so it can be coordinated alongside your coating booking rather than as a separate trip. Mention it on your enquiry and it will be quoted with the rest of the work.
